Sesame Street - Elmo's Potty

Elmo’s Potty Time, features the beloved Elmo from Sesame Street. Elmo and several other Muppets act out skits and sing songs to make children more comfortable with potty training. The goal is promoting good health and decrease children’s nervousness about “big kid” under pants. It seems to have greater success with children who have started on potty training but show a certain level of resistance or disinterest.

I must mention “fun” element. I liked this video because it offered simple ideas about how my munchkin can listen to his body’s signals.

In terms of negative feedback, some parents felt that their child grew weary of all the action and songs, and if anything they distracted from potty training. There is only one scene that shows Elmo on the potty. The rest of the information focuses on hand washing, accidents and training pants, which doesn’t really inspire a child to SIT on the potty.
